This is my first encounter with Adaptories,
a band from Greece, I think. There is a whole bunch of instruments on
this release, from laptops to fucked up guitar, pedal effects, MS20,
metals drill, toy synth but also trumpet. The latter is not present
in every track, but in those which it is, Adaptories manage to sound
like Throbbing Gristle: the same sustained trumpet sound being through
sound effects. Everything is recorded in a rather lo-fi manner here,
so there are more connections to be made to Throbbing Gristle, especially
how they sounded live. Rhythms are set in a mechanical way, instruments
improvise freely and there is a bit of vocals which are hard to understand.
Industrial music sounding like the old masters and that's fine enough.
